Who Should be Taking a Calcium Supplement?

taking a calcium supplement

Your whole life you’ve always been told to get enough calcium, but why? Most people know that it is a key component in healthy strong bones your whole life. So why should someone be taking a calcium supplement who is done growing? Your body constantly uses calcium to help maintain strong bones. Yet a lot of people don’t know that you also need calcium to help with normal heart, muscle and nerve function. According to Mayo Clinic “calcium, along with vitamin D, may have benefits beyond bone health: perhaps protecting against cancer, diabetes and high blood pressure.”

Not Getting Enough of the Calcium

There are plenty of risks associated when you do not get enough calcium in adolescence, it could result in not growing to full potential height at adulthood and leave you more susceptible to osteoporosis as an adult. Not getting enough calcium can lead to lower bone mass and thus you have the brittleness in the bones.

Seeing as how the human body is incapable of producing its own calcium we have to get it through other methods. Calcium is found in dairy products, leafy vegetables and salmon. All of this isn’t going to matter if you’re not getting enough Vitamin B as well otherwise the body is unable to absorb the calcium into the body. Luckily we have a supplement for that too.

Why you Need a Calcium supplement

Even the most healthy balanced diets it’s hard to ensure you are getting the right amount of the vitamins and minerals your body needs. Other diets also have a factor such as being vegan, having lactose issues can keep you from having the right amount and even being prone to osteoporosis. That’s why we made our Calcium & Magnesium supplement. By adding a calcium supplement you give your body the ability to get enough calcium.

Gluten Free Supplements

people avoiding gluten

There are plenty of reasons to choose one supplement company from another, what we aim to do at Liquid Health™ is help you narrow that decision till there is only one clear winner. Us, we are the winner. Here’s at Liquid Health™ we product gluten free supplements that are the right choice for vitamin and mineral supplement needs for people avoiding gluten .

Understanding Gluten

gluten free supplements

Let’s start over, what’s the deal with gluten? Gluten is found in the protein family and otherwise known as glutein and gliadin. When you hear about people with Celiacs the damaging part of the gluten is gliadin.  Now most of the time gluten is tolerated by people just fine and dandy. What we’ve opted for was just not including it in any of our supplements, because the benefits we are after don’t have any reason being in our product.  We therefore eliminate any risk of disrupting any lifestyle choice for those looking to get a little extra help in the supplement department by making gluten free supplements.

Most of the time when you hear about people avoiding gluten it is usually to combat a specific issue such as the effects of celiacs. Gluten is know to be a key factor in trigging the body’s immune system and once triggered it attacks the small intestine. This starts to lead to problems over time with osteoporosis and being deficient in iron. This is where you hear about people being gluten free with celiacs, if they continue to eat gluten their small intestine gets berated and never fully heals.

Because we know how gluten can affect many people, making gluten free supplements based on those effects makes our products safe for any sort of gluten intolerance while not losing any of the benefit that the supplement will be offering. It doesn’t matter what you’re looking for, if its just another complete multiple supplement to stay up with your health to some extra natural energy throughout the day we have what you need.

What Vitamin A Does for the Body

the ways of Vitamin A

We’re going to show you the ways of Vitamin A. Since Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin that appears in many foods the human body has learned to harness its wonderful benefits. In addition, it has been shown to assist in maintaining good vision, providing support for the immune system and promotes healthy organ functions as well as helping with growth and cell division. Vitamin A comes in two different forms, the first being found in meat, dairy, fish and chicken while the second is found in fruits and veggies.

the ways of Vitamin A

When it comes to Vitamin A, the amount one should be taking often varies from age. The average person gets enough from the daily foods they consume, often infants and younger children do not receive enough vitamin A. Fortunately with most multiple vitamins have enough vitamin A to get them the proper amount. If you start to become deficient vision could be affected with what is called xerophtalmia where the individual is unable to see in low lighting and can eventually lead to blindness.

Too much of a good thing isn’t a good thing. It is possible to overdo it on one’s intake of many vitamins, this is why it’s important to read the directions on your supplement bottle or listen to one’s doctors recommended amount. When it comes to getting enough the right amount of nutrients and vitamins, our Complete Multiple supplement comes packed with a sweet amount of daily vitamins and minerals you may be missing and you guessed it, the perfect amount.

Why Women Should be taking a Folic Acid Supplement

Folic Acid is Important

Blood is important, we have a lot of it in us. Thanks to Folic acid (the man-made version of folate acid), our bodies are able to produce the extra red blood cells that your body needs when you are trying to become pregnant and while you are pregnant. Folic Acid is very important during pregnancy due to its ability to help up production of red blood cells that help to keep the baby healthy and developing normally.

Understanding Folic Acid

The CDC has said that if you plan on becoming pregnant or are pregnant the average woman needs at least 400 mcg of folic acid daily. It is important to take folic acid daily due to it being a water soluble vitamin (a water soluble vitamin means that it passes through the body very quickly, so taking it everyday helps to keep you healthy).

Folic Acid is Important

According to the British Dietetic Association folic acid plays a major role in the synthesis and repair of DNA and RNA, rapid cell division and growth, hearing loss due to aging and the enhancement of brain health. The most common birth defect associated with folic acid deficiency is spina bifida also known as split spine, this is where the spinal cord is unable to form properly.

Other Benefits

There are certainly more reasons other than just trying to become pregnant or being pregnant to up your folic acid intake. Another important reason to be making sure you are getting enough folic acid is that folic acid also works to keep our blood healthy. Folic acid deficiency can result in a certain type of anemia known as folate-deficiency anemia.

Folic Acid is Important

Folate rich foods that have a high concentrate of folate are leafy greens, beans, breads, rice and citrus. Sometimes it’s hard to plan your meals around every vitamin you may be needing or to even get enough of it when you do have it. Fortunately, we have made the perfect prenatal vitamin supplement for women who plan on becoming pregnant or currently are.

Why Go Liquid for your Supplements

go Liquid for your Supplements

The Liquid Supplement World

In today’s ever-changing hip modern world there are a plethora of ways to get all the supplements you need. They come in many forms from tablets, soft gels, chewables, powders, capsules to liquids. While there are specific applications to all different types we want to break down all the reasons we choose to go liquid over anything else.  The major point being liquid supplements are more easily absorbed.

When it comes to going liquid for your supplements one of the biggest factors that helped us make the decision to go liquid was the flexibility of how an individual can choose the dose that is right for them. With the elderly, they may have a more sensitive digestive tract from aging and therefore will benefit from being able to drop the dosage and work your way up. This gives time for the body to build up to be able to take the proper amount without having to deal with any side effects they may have experienced due to taking a higher dosage when they needed less.  Being able to control dosing is also great for children, as everyone is different, they can go with a lower dose to fit their weight.

Know the Facts

A common misconception is that a liquid vitamin will expire very quickly, at Liquid Health Inc all of our products shelf life is two years from the manufactured date. Hardly a quick expiration.

What’s important to remember when going liquid for your supplements is that your body does not need to breakdown liquids, giving you the quicker absorption over capsules or tablets which can take upwards of 30 minutes before they can assimilate. Along with that is the higher potency, more nutrition, you are getting these nutrients at their peak potency. Along with being convenient, you can make yourself a cocktail of supplements, for example the Immune Support for when you’re feeling a cold come on as well as Mega Energy to help give you that extra energy you will probably be need to help fight off the cold. One drink over 5-6 different pills, another reason why you should go liquid for your supplements. Oh and did we mention all the flavors? Tons of fun and tasty flavors is just one more reason to go liquid.

According to the Physician’s Desk Reference studies showed that 85% of nutrients in liquid supplements are absorbed within 20-30 seconds, compared to upwards of 30 minutes from capsules the nutrients are not always delivered effectively compared to their liquid counter parts.   The Physicians Desk reference also noted that with pills or capsules only around 40-55% of the nutrients are utilized.

Nothing Beats a Goodnight Sleep

Sleep is important

Is Melatonin Effective for Sleep?

The chemical expression of darkness some call it, to others it is known as the Dracula hormone, but to us normal people, well we just call it Melatonin.  Melatonin is the hormone that is released by the enigmatic pineal gland when our brain responds to darkness. The simplest way to remember how melatonin works in our bodies is “darkness stimulates the pineal gland to secrete melatonin whereas exposure to light inhibits this mechanism.”  As we age the we see a drop off in melatonin production due to the pineal gland dysfunctions and eventual failure that comes with age. Sleep is important to the human body because it allows us to restore and repair organ systems.

Sleep is important

You’re Getting Very Sleepy

“According to data from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), up to about 70 million Americans suffer from chronic sleep problems, which are generally associated with obesity, diabetes, hypertension and increased cardiovascular risk.” Getting enough sleep greatly impacts your health and another reason why sleep is important. When you struggle to get good restful sleep your body suffers, fortunately with our Sleep Well product, not only do we give you an extra kick of melatonin, it restores your body levels of melatonin and gives you that same restful and rejuvenating sleep that you experienced when you were younger.

Another common effect of not getting enough sleep is depression, some “90% of patients with depression complain about sleep quality.” When you are unable to hit and stay in REM sleep your brain isn’t getting enough rest and is being overworked. With sleeping disorders, plenty of other issues arise, when you start to see this as an association of aging and less melatonin being produced by your body it is all the more reason to find a product that can help maintain the proper levels of melatonin and keep you on track.

Another reason we see why sleep is important is to help maintain cognitive and behavioral performance. Not only does your immune system start to become vulnerable, but your ability to store and create memories also starts to diminish when your ability to get enough restful sleep starts to decline.

Additional reasons to take a Melatonin supplement

  • Jet lag
  • Delayed sleep phase disorder
  • Shift work sleep disorder
  • Insomnia
  • Tastes like happy

We take for granted when we are healthy and are usually awestruck when our health takes a turn, that’s why it is especially important to be aware of your body and take action when you notice something isn’t right. Don’t let a few restless nights be ignored any longer and start to get back on track with a good sleeping schedule. Sleep is important and great health begins with a good nights sleep.

How Lutein and Zeaxanthin Benefit Vision

Lutein and Zeaxanthin benefit your vision

Free radicals everywhere!

Before we talk about how Lutein and Zeaxanthin benefit your vision, we need to start by understanding these two vital carotenoids. Carotenoids are the pigments that are produced by plants and make fruits and vegetables have a yellowish/ reddish hue. Structurally they’re quite similar and they both Lutein and Zeaxanthin are powerful antioxidants and have many benefits to offer the biggest benefit they bring to the table is eye protection.

Your Best Defense

Lutein and Zeaxanthin benefit your vision

Lutein and Zeaxanthin basically are the top of the line defense against free radicals (Long story short free radicals damage your cells). If you don’t know how free radicals affect the body or why antioxidants are the best form of defense against them check out How Antioxidants Affect The Body where we breakdown how this all goes down. How Lutein and Zeaxanthin benefit your vision is really quite simple, they protect your body’s DNA, proteins and fats from stressors or these free radicals.

Understanding how Lutein and Zeaxanthin benefits your eyes can be broken down like this: When your eyes are exposed to blue light and oxygen there is then a production of hurtful oxygen free radicals. Blue light from new smart devices can also have the same effect, making this supplement extremely important for young children still developing who have way more access to screen time. Lutein and Zeaxanthin basically counter act this production of harmful free radicals, reducing damage to your eyes.

The Research

In a study “Studies on the Singlet Oxygen Scavenging Mechanism of Human Macular Pigment” researchers concluded that both Lutein and Zeaxanthin can be beneficial to eye health when used alone, but using the two carotenoids together produce a much stronger and more efficient form to combat free radicals. In another study “The Role of Lutein in Eye Related Diseases” researchers were able to conclude that “The antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and blue light-absorptive properties of lutein provide its many protective roles in various ocular diseases especially AMD and cataracts. Lutein has become known as the “eye vitamin” and its dietary intake is important in maintaining its concentration in human lens and retina.” Further showing that using both Lutein and Zeaxanthin rich supplements add to your eye health by a huge amount.

Lutein and Zeaxanthin benefit your vision

Knowing that Lutein and Zeaxanthin benefit your vision is one thing, seeing how they fight free radicals and also give your body more antioxidants is all the more reason you should be taking a supplement with Lutein and Zeaxanthin. Fortunately for growing children we have our Children’s Complete Multi Vitamin all new formula with, you guessed it Lutein and Zeaxanthin.

Why We Need Vitamins and Minerals

the reasons why we need vitamins and minerals.

Vitamins

In order to maintain healthy lives humans need plenty of vitamins, these are necessary organic compounds often referred to as macronutrients. Without the proper amount of vitamins the body cannot function or control many of its normal bodily processes. The reason why we need vitamins and minerals is because humans are unable to produce their own vitamins minus vitamin D and K, we must resort to getting them from other sources. The most efficient way to make sure you’re getting all the vitamins are by having a well balanced diet with the right vitamin rich food and supplements with specific vitamins. We’re going to breakdown the reasons why we need vitamins and minerals.

Breaking Down Vitamins

When it comes to Vitamins there are two different categories for how the human body handles them, fat-soluble and water-soluble. With fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E & K), the body is capable of storing and transporting these fat-soluble vitamins via fatty tissues. These vitamins, not surprisingly are stored in fat, so it is important to know just how many you are taking because too much of a good thing isn’t a good thing. With water-soluble vitamins (C, B1, B2, B,3 B4, B5, B6, B7, B8, B9 & B12) being able to dissolve in water your body is constantly in a state of removal of them. This makes it all the more important to make sure you are getting the right amount daily as the body is more likely to deplenish these much faster.

Why We Need Vitamins and Minerals

Minerals

In addition to needing vitamins to maintain healthy lives, humans also need a healthy dose of minerals to help maintain normal bodily functions. There are two types of minerals, microminerals and trace minerals. When you do not get the appropriate amounts of minerals the body struggles to maintain its normal functions. Essentially minerals work to help maintain strong bones, normal heart function and keep the nervous system in check. Minerals are also a vital building block for particular hormones and enzymes. Much like vitamins the body cannot produce its own minerals, this is why it is important to eat a healthy mix of mineral rich food or by taking the proper supplements to ensure your body has the right amount.

Typically Used Mineral Supplements

  • Calcium – Used for bone health, muscle growth, healthy heart functions and creating and maintaining blood cells.
  • Iron – Vital building block for enzymes and proteins.
  • Magnesium – Regulates biochemical reactions, synthesizes protein and helps maintain muscle and bone growth.

The Why

While the total amount of vitamins and minerals that each person should be getting daily varies depending on age, body type, gender and any related health issues you still need them. When we are not getting the proper amount of vitamins and minerals we are susceptible to becoming deficient in vitamins and minerals that can lead to health issues. Not getting enough D vitamin can result in a weakened immune system, loss of bone, depression and muscle weakness. Being low on magnesium can create heart issues, muscle cramps and fatigue. Vitamin E deficiency can lead to reduced morality, prostate cancer and respiratory disease. To name a few of the side effects of being deficient in these particular vitamins and minerals. These are the reasons why we need vitamins and minerals.

The best thing you can do is maintain a healthy balanced diet to ensure you are giving your body all the tools it needs to continue to thrive. Sometimes you even need an extra boost, with Liquid health Inc we strive to have the best supplements for vitamins and minerals to give your body the boost it needs.

How Antioxidants Affect The Body

antioxidant rich liquid supplements

Free radicals are toxic byproducts of oxygen metabolism that can cause significant damage to living cells and tissues. They are major contributors to the aging process and often negatively affect our cells. Antioxidants are one of the best weapons we can use to protect our cells. One way to make sure the body is getting antioxidants is to include a variety of fruits, veggies and whole grains in your diet. Unfortunately, it can still be incredibly difficult to get enough antioxidants with just a healthy diet. To get you that extra boost you might be needing, we have plenty of antioxidant rich liquid supplements.

antioxidant rich liquid supplements

The Benefits of Antioxidants

Antioxidant rich liquid supplements have been shown to limit damage caused by free radicals. By releasing antioxidants into the body to help balance free radicals and slow the signs of aging. They help keep damage to your cells to a minimum as well as contributing to helping boost the immune system. The National Institute of Health says, “Antioxidants are man-made or natural substances that may prevent or delay some types of cell damage. Diets high in vegetables and fruits, which are good sources of antioxidants, have been found to be healthy… examples of antioxidants include vitamins C and E, selenium, and carotenoids, such as beta-carotene, lycopene, lutein, and zeaxanthin.”

Knowing how our body uses antioxidants, we created our own Liquid Health brand, with a healthy dose of antioxidants. With our Ultra Antioxidant supplement we have put together a fantastic antioxidant rich liquid supplements of vitamin E, Selenium, CoQ10, Vitamin C and other vital and useful antioxidants and ingredients. Eliminating free radicals and increasing our immune function was our goal.

antioxidant rich liquid supplements

The human body is constantly fighting off infection and disease. Along with other bodily functions and lifestyle habits we are always at risk of being exposed to and fighting off free radicals. When our cells our weakened from having to hold off these free radicals our cells are often left as easy targets. The best way to defend your body from being overwhelmed is to make sure you are getting enough vitamins C and E, selenium, and carotenoids, such as beta-carotene, lycopene, lutein, and zeaxanthin. If you are not getting enough fruits, veggies and whole grains or other antioxidant rich foods Ultra Antioxidant might be the next step to give your body that extra boost it needs to continue to function healthily.

How Biotin Benefits the Body

biotin health How Biotin Benefits the Body

To understand how Biotin benefits the body let us start this off by explaining where biotin comes from. Biotin is a critical form of B vitamin and is a vital nutrient that can be found most commonly in beef, eggs, salmon and pork. Biotin is critical in speeding up the metabolism of glucose, amino acids and other fatty acids.(Basically this this the catalyst in the body to help us extract energy from our foods). Thus resulting in improved metabolism, skin health and weight loss.

While biotin deficiency isn’t always cause for alarm the signs of being deficient in the vitamin are often times hard to notice. Signs often times include thinning hair (commonly mistaken as a form of aging) and brittle nails (easily breaking or tearing). We’ve therefore created the perfect supplement to combat these deficiencies that many individuals may experience. Our Skin Rescue & Renew supplement was created for combating hair thinning, brittle nails and as an extra bonus we’ve also added phytoceramides (which help with the prevention of moisture loss benefiting an individual’s overall skin health). To learn more about phytoceramides click here.

A common misconception with hair, skin and nail health is that you can treat it on the outside with topical products. Our Skin Rescue & Renew promotes healthy skin, hair thinning reduction and stronger nails from the inside. Lacking the proper supplements and vitamins is a common factor in these symptoms.

Other Findings

To further illustrate how Biotin is a critical supplement this study showed ““Treatment of brittle fingernails and onychoschizia with biotin” the effects of biotin were assessed for 6-14 months in a group of women with brittle and splitting nails. Over the course of the study nail thickness increased upwards of 25%. After 4-5 months they also reported having firmer nails.

A similar study went to test hair health and found that while on a 3-5 mg a day of biotin after 4 months hair health had improved. “The evidence supporting the use of biotin supplements to support skin health is equally limited to a small number of case reports…showing that 100 mcg to 10 mg/day resulted in dramatic improvements in rash or dermatitis as well as alopecia.”

Knowing all the areas Biotin plays a key role is important in understanding why we use it and why we need it in our diet.

  • It boosts our metabolism by extracting energy from our foods and is vital for our body to continue to work properly.
  • Biotin is one of the essential components our body uses to regulate healthy skin and hair and nails.
  • Health optimizer, Biotin synthesizes a large number of vital components that are important in maintaining optimal health for our body.

Looking at how our body uses Biotin we are able to see how it impacts many aspects of our life. If you’re looking for that extra boost in glowing radiating skin, stronger nails and healthier hair Our Skin Rescue & Renew packs the ultimate punch.

Therapeutic benefits of CBD

therapeutic benefits of CBD

One of the main reasons we are seeing CBD on the rise today is that the psychoactive effects of THC are subverted, and the focus is primarily on the healing properties.  According to a study on the Therapeutic potential of CBD, CBD exhibited properties towards anxiolytic (used to reduce anxiety) and neuro protective properties (preservation of neuron structures and functions).

Shown in the article, researchers set out to highlight advancements in clinical uses of CBD in these areas to show the therapeutic benefits of CBD.

CBD VS THC To Reduce Anxiolytic Properties

Cannabis has shown to have a large amount of chemical compounds, over 100 that are more closely related to CBD.  One of the more interesting things found  about CBD is that “CBD both blocked and potentiated the effects of Δ9-THC” Tests showed that when given a control group large doses THC, anxiety and psychotic symptoms were triggered but then were “attenuated when CBD was administered”.

Not only did this show that CBD can reduce the effects of THC but it opened the door to understanding how CBD could have therapeutic benefits towards anxiolytic properties.

To find the potential anxiolytic effects of CBD a researchers did a controlled study where they had volunteers use the Simulated Public Speaking Test (SPST). Volunteers talk in front of a camera where they record their levels of anxiety and its physiological concomitants (what naturally accompanies something).

“Through this test, the effects of CBD (300 mg) were compared with those produced by two anxiolytic compounds, ipsapirone (5 mg) and diazepam (10 mg), in a double-blind, placebo-controlled procedure. The findings demonstrated that CBD and the two other anxiolytic compounds all attenuated anxiety induced by the SPST.”

Reduction in heart rate and blood pressure after administering CBD during this test further showed that CBD has these anxiolytic properties.

How The Brain Reacts To CBD

When taking images of the brain after being administered CBD researches results showed that “an increase in the left parahippocampal gyrus activity and a decrease in left amigdala-hippocampus complex, extending to the left posterior cingulate cortex and the hypothalamus 4 This brain activity pattern associated with the use of CBD was regarded as compatible with a central anxiolytic effect in these areas.” Further showing that the areas of our brain that deal with and manage anxiety were responding with lower levels of anxiety than previous images without CBD.

The most impressive find in this whole case study was that CBD was shown to lower measures of anxiety without the sedation of the subject. Reducing activity in the hippocampus, parahippocampal and left temporal gyrus was all a factor in reducing anxiety in subjects.

In Conclusion

The therapeutic benefits of CBD when delivered to humans doesn’t produce the psychoactive effects commonly associated with THC. THC itself has been shown to increase anxiolytic, antiepileptic, and antipsychotic properties but when CBD isolated from cannabis shows that it can in fact reduce anxiolytic, antiepileptic, and antipsychotic properties. Administering CDB can help reduce these anxiolytic effects.
